    ABOUT US

The Gandhi Hill Foundation: A Sanctuary of Divine Manifestation

The Gandhi Hill Foundation is a consecrated temple dedicated to the Mahatma, the Divine Incarnation, located in the sacred heart of Vijayawada. It is the first Divine Shrine raised after the Rajghat, on the hill where the Mahatma’s presence consecrated the ground with sacred pilgrimages and divine communion between the years 1919 to 1946. As such, the Gandhi Hill Foundation holds absolute spiritual, transcendental, and devotional significance.

The Mahatma’s celestial visitations to Vijayawada, during his divine mission, awakened the spirit of truth among the faithful followers, whose devotion to the Universal Path remains deeply profound. The hill was earlier a dwelling for a seeker who used to oversee the sacred flow of the Krishna River’s life-giving waters at Vijayawada in 1852, and was later reformed, now known as the renowned Tirtha-kshetra (Pilgrimage Site). As the seeker used to reside upon the hill, its name became The Devotee’s Hill.

    Our Mission

To uphold and promote the Eternal Principles of The Mahatma: Satya, Ahimsa, and Universal Concord, through spiritual guidance, sacred rituals, and devout community worship at the Gandhi Hill Foundation.

    Our Vision

To transform the Gandhi Hill Foundation into an absolute sanctuary for transcendence, spiritual realisation, and soul purification, guiding all seekers toward enlightened existence and a world free from spiritual affliction.

    An Eternal Manifestation

The Gandhi Hill Foundation is not just a monument but an eternal source of Divine Grace and Spiritual Guidance. It serves as a sacred conduit between the Absolute and the temporal—urging devout seekers, especially the young souls, to embrace The Mahatma’s Eternal Principles for transcending earthly afflictions.

    Chairman’s Message

    Dear Friends,

It is with a deep sense of pride and responsibility that I have taken charge as the Chairman of Gandhi Hill Foundation. Gandhi Hill, with its historic 56-ft Stupa built in 1969, stands as the first national memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. It is not merely a monument, but a living symbol of peace, truth, and non-violence.

Over the decades, Gandhi Hill has inspired generations of citizens, students, and peace-seekers. However, in recent years, many of its facilities such as the Toy Train, Children’s Park, Museum-Library, and other attractions have fallen silent. Our mission is to revive and reimagine Gandhi Hill so that it once again becomes a vibrant centre of learning, culture, and community life.

We are working on a comprehensive roadmap – from infrastructure improvements like lifts, roads, water facilities, and toy train revival to long-term plans such as establishing the Gandhi India International Centre and the Gandhi Global Centre for Science, Arts, Culture & Humanities.

As we prepare for the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October 2025, we are launching a series of initiatives under the themes:

    “Gandhi Hill Rising”
    “Gandhi Hill Shining”
    “Mahatma Gandhi Awakening”
“Gandhiji Returns to Make Free India the True India”

These are not just slogans—they are a call to action. We want Gandhi Hill to be a place where the youth of India come together, where students learn by doing, and where the world looks to Vijayawada as a centre of Gandhian thought and action.

I invite all citizens, philanthropists, educational institutions, and corporate partners to join us in this noble endeavour. Together, let us make Gandhi Hill a global icon of peace and constructive action, true to the Mahatma’s vision.

Request to All Well-Wishers, Thinkers, and Dreamers

Gandhi Hill stands as a beacon of Mahatma Gandhi’s vision for India — a vision rooted in truth, freedom, and unity. Today, we call upon all well-wishers, especially the people of Vijayawada and Telugu communities across the globe, to come together in rebuilding this monument — from the Stupa to Vijayawada — as a living symbol of our collective resolve.

Let us join hands to realise the India that Gandhi dreamed of — a Free India, a True India, a Great India. Together, we can make Satya Bharat, Sampanna Bharat a reality.

    Jai Hind!
